The day and night system in Coral Island follows a 24-hour cycle, starting at 06:00 am and ending at 02:00 am. During this time, the player are free to engage in any activities. As the day progress, the lighting and atmosphere of the island changes to reflect the time of day, with beautiful sunsets and scenery to enjoy in various places. The player can choose when to sleep as they wish, allowing them to customize their own schedule and playstyle.
Gameplay Effects
The main effects of the day and night cycle in Coral Island is that it allows players to save their progress during sleep. Additionally, sleeping also restores the player's health and energy. However, if the player sleeps after 00:00 am, their health and energy will not be fully recovered. It's important to note that the game only saves progress after the player has gone to sleep and accepted the daily profit breakdown.
Shops and townies
All shops and townies in Coral Island abide by schedules based on the in-game time, in addition to day of the week, season and weather. Most shops will open or close according to the hour, while townies may travel to certain locations or perform certain tasks depending on the time.
Passing out
Players are able to stay awake until 01:00 am. After that, the player will pass out and wake up in their bed, having been found and brought home by the townsfolk.
Catching
Catchable Insects and Critters may spawn depending on whether it is day time or night time. Day time consists of Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. Depending on the season, Night time will have a difference in time. Example: In summer, the night time will start from 19:00 pm onwards, so Day time in summer will occur between 06:00 am to 18:59 pm.
Fishing
Certain Fish will appear during certain time. Unlike insects & critters that use day time and night time only, fish spawns are divided into four times of day: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. Example: During Fall season, Tuna could only spawn during afternoon & evening, meanwhile Tiger barb could spawn all day.
Animals
Animals will leave their coop or barn at the start of the day. This allows them to eat grass within the surroundings. In the evening they will return to the building to sleep.
