Wataru is non-dateable npc. He doesnt go out much from his residence, the lighthouse. He usually goes out only to take care of his garden and visits the beach shack. He is an old friend of Suki/Alice’s dad. He is a retired boat captain. He doesnt have the best relationship with his son, Wakuu. Now living alone, Wakuu always makes sure to visit Wataru on the weekends. Wakuu lives in Hillside, in the astronomy building. Wataru is a strict parent and not very good at communication. He has set his ways and is very hard to convince otherwise. This applies to everything in his life. Hardheaded, stern personality. He likes his space and has the tendency to be a hermit.

Wataru is reserved and willful. He doesn't talk about his feelings because he doesn't think it does anything. He is focused when it comes to a goal, takes pride in what he does. He often can be stubborn, judgemental, and blame himself for things when they go wrong. Wakuu's mom isn’t in his life, he was a one night stand baby and was raised by Wataru mainly.

Summer
I s’pose now that Summer’s ’ere, everyone’s going to be walking around eating ice cream. Don’t care for it, myself.
And so messy! Putting a food that melts on top of a cone so it can drip all over your hands in the hot sun… I just never understood the appeal.
Summer’s the best time for fishing. In this weather, you can toss out a net and pull it in, full of fish. Easy as that!
Heart 8 - 10 Keep seeing weird stuff at the beach nowadays… Somebody was half naked, sitting by the fireplace from morning till sunset. Bah.
Heart 8 - 10 That’s what warm weather brings out…
Fall
Date 21 - 25 Cold weather’s blowing in from the east. We’ll see some snow before long.
Heart 6 - 10 If you want some melons, you gotta wait until next Summer. Fall isn’t hot enough to grow them.
Heart 8 - 10 The lighthouse isn’t big enough to grow fruit like papaya. You can on your farm. They should be in season now.
Heart 8 - 10 Have some leftover blueberries from last season in the freezer. I might make some muffins with them. My son likes those things, y’know…muffins.
Date 8 - 13, Heart 6 - 10 Harvest Festival, eh? Yeah, I might see it. I don’t like crowds, y’know. But the crops. They might be worth the trip.
Winter
I don’t mind the snow. It’s the ice that irks me. Turns the water into land.
It’s hard to garden with snow everywhere.
Heart 6 - 10 Can you still buy seeds at Sam’s? Might ask Wakuu to pick up some for the lighthouse.
Heart 6 - 10 Heard there’s some travelers living in the forest who might have some Winter seeds. You know of this person? Ken or something? Not Jack’s boy, is it?
Date 22 - 27, Heart 8 - 10 People are gathering on New Year’s Eve, I think… I don’t know, not invited. My son told me about it.

Player enters the Beach Shack. Sunny is working behind the counter. Player encounters Wataru and Wakuu arguing about going to yoga. Wataru doesn’t want to go. Player convinces him to try it, saying they’ll go too.

Details 
Wakuu, Player, and Wataru arrive at yoga. Leah is at the head of the group. Wataru isn’t flexible and isn’t enjoying himself. He does something embarrassing and leaves thinking everyone is laughing at him. Everyone else at yoga is younger, from Wakuu’s friend group.
