Randy is a full-time elementary teacher with a questionable taste in outfit, who lives in the town center with his daughter from his first marriage, Leah, and his marine biologist wife, Ling. Randy loves strong coffee, full-bodied wine, and classic literature. Randy has one prosthetic arm-- which is “the coolest thing in the world”, according to Valentina. However, that isn't why the kids love him. Randy has the patience of a saint and a remarkable ability to explain complex ideas in a very simple and easy to understand manner-- a textbook example of a good teacher. When he isn’t at school, he can be found at Hillside Brewery and Vineyard enjoying a glass of wine with his wife, or reading at the Library, presumably a Jane Austen or Leo Tolstoy’s. Randy’s last name is only used by his students when they are referring to him.

Spring
Date 1 - 9 Cauliflower season, isn’t it? Yeah, I should know. I used to be obsessed with growing it. My mom’s favorite vegetable.
Date 1 - 9 I don’t like it that much anymore.
Date 5 - 14 It’s still a bit chilly out, so I think some animals are still hibernating.
Date 9 - 16 I was expecting to see way more frogs and bees this time of year. Hmm…
Heart 6 - 10 We started planting carrots and potatoes already.
Summer
Date 1 - 8 Watch your step, Player. As the weather gets warmer, more animals will come out of hibernation.
Date 24 - 28 One time, Zoe had a school project, and we planted strawberries. It was fun. We shared the harvest with some wild animals.
Date 24 - 28 It was a rewarding project, and it taught kids about the cycle of life firsthand.
Date 19 - 28 The thing about planting in the wild is so many animals come out at night. The seedlings would probably be gone the next day.
Heart 6 - 10 We grow some crops in our garden. It’s a good way for Zoe to bond with nature. We planted some corn, melons. What else did we plant?
Fall
Date 1 - 7 Do you think we should plant more trees to shelter wildlife?
Date 1 - 7 I knew you’d think so! Shelter isn’t just for rain, you know. It’s important on sunny days too. Just like us, animals don’t want to overheat.
Date 12 - 18 Thankfully, most of the trees here are renewable. And the fact that we plant more trees every year has really helped the environment.
Date 12 - 22 There’s a certain part of this island we don’t touch at all, and I’m glad for the restriction.
Date 12 - 22 Hopefully, we can teach our kids to respect wildlife and to reserve some space only for them.
Winter
Date 1 - 7 Winter, eh? Less work for me and you. There are significantly fewer animals out and about this time of year.

Date 1 - 7 Ah, yes, yes! Heaters. I forgot the proper name for them for a split second there. Must be my Winter brain coming back.
Date 25 - 28 We’ve been enjoying building snowmen this Winter. I think Zoe had a lot of fun.
Heart 6 - 10 We forgot to clear the garden before Winter. Now we have frozen crops in our garden. I think we’ll just wait for Spring to clean it up. No point in doing it right now, eh?
